LINEAR THROTTLE SALES SUPPORT
The standard throttle mapping on the majority of modern vehicles is setup to be very responsive to minor throttle input. This makes the vehicle feel more powerful as you get a sudden surge when you initially press the pedal. For general daily driving this is a great setup and makes driving quickly almost effortless.
When you start using a vehicle on the track or for spirited driving on your favourite country roads the standard throttle mapping can become a hindrance. Add the additional power that our customers run over a stock vehicle and for some the standard throttle mapping can be over sensitive. This is where a linear throttle map is beneficial.
A linear throttle map is setup to give closer to a 1 : 1 ratio between the throttle angle and engine load. This gives the driver much more control as it allows for a much wider range of throttle modulation.

The below comments are from customers that have used both normal and linear throttle software and sum up the linear throttle option:
Customer A “The linear throttle map initially made my car feel a bit flat as I wasn’t used to having to put my foot down fully to feel the full power from the engine, now I’ve got used to it I don’t think I ever want to drive a car with normal ‘marketing’ throttle mapping.”
Customer B “I don’t know how I did without a linear throttle map before, I now feel like I’m actually driving the car as I can use the pedal to get the most traction out of corners. Not only that I’ve found on longer journeys I’m not using the engine as much and am getting much better fuel economy”
Customer C “The linear throttle map has completely transformed my car, if you class yourself as a ‘driver’ then it’s a must have. It’s much more enjoyable to drive, you can actually make small throttle adjustments mid corner whilst still being in control.”
The choice is yours as a customer, there is no additional cost to have linear throttle however dealers reserve the right to charge a fee if you choose to swap between maps.

Stage 1 software is a must have for any Golf R. With power and torque increases throughout the entire rev range and very smooth power delivery, Revo Software gives the Golf R the performance it should have had when VW released it. Driving a Stage 1 Golf R really puts into perspective how much potential the standard car has, the Revo’d car revs with much greater urgency, using full throttle there’s a push in the back from the new found torque. Power delivery is smooth and progressive; this car eats the road up in a way you wouldn’t expect yet is just as comfortable popping to the shops and driving around town. Performance increases are significant, but drivability isn’t lost. We offer a Linear Throttle option for this stage. With adjustable settings for boost, timing and fuelling, the vehicle is set up to suit the conditions, fuel quality and drivers style.

Stage 2 Performance Software has been specifically developed to attain the best possible performance from the Golf R with a bolt on performance exhaust and quality cold air intake. Stage 2 allows you to run a sports cat or de-cat without the CEL (Check Engine Light) being triggered by a ‘CAT Efficiency’ error code. Stage 2 software is boost, fuelling and timing adjustable with slightly more flexibility than Stage 1 allowing the vehicle to be setup to suit the fuel quality, driving conditions and driver preferences. Golf R 2.0TFSI Stage 2 software is specifically tuned to suit the limitations of the standard high pressure fuel pump and is designed to suit the following hardware upgrade

Stage 2+ Performance Software has been specifically developed to attain the best possible performance from the Golf R with the bolt on performance modifications as per Stage 2, however is specific to cars with up-rated high pressure fuel pumps. Power increases depend very much on the hardware, settings and fuel being used. The up-rated fuel pump allows much more power throughout the rev range but specifically in the midrange where the stock pump is insufficient. Stage 2+ software is boost, fuelling and timing adjustable allowing the vehicle to be setup to suit the fuel quality, driving conditions and driver preferences.

Stage 3 performance software has been developed to suit our recommended hardware upgrade package. Extensive testing and experience with the 2.0TFSI engine showed that the GT series 3071R turbo is the perfect solution for a turbo upgrade, Revo software allowing the turbo to spool as quick as some of the lower spec. turbo’s sometimes used for this engine and giving huge improvements throughout the mid and top end. Tuning is adjustable and can be tailored to suit your needs. Stage 3 software is designed to be run with all of the bolt on hardware listed in the requirements and can be setup to work with a completely standard engine. For this software to run efficiently and reliably, a strict hardware build list must be adhered to. Furthermore, our SPS is highly recommended to guarantee optimal performance gains.

Stage 4 2.0TFSI Performance Software is designed for those customers that want the ultimate from their 2.0TFSI. Whilst Stage 3 software is designed to be run with all the bolt on hardware, Stage 4 is the next progression and has been developed to maximise the potential of cars running fully built engines with uprated valve-train. Stage 4 software is a full ‘Race’ map, giving performance levels that could embarrass most supercars. With an 8000rpm rev limit, a very wide range of adjustment Stage 4 software has a lot of flexibility allowing your car to be setup to suit your requirements accounting for race fuel and water meth if you choose to. It is also fully compatible with external boost controllers for those that really want to push things to the next level. Power/Torque output depends very much on the setup and specific hardware used.
